Elizabeth and I are thrilled—we just found out that the Happier with Gretchen Rubin podcast has been nominated for a Webby Award, which are awards given for excellence on the internet, in many different categories. We're in the "Podcasts: Health and Wellness" category.
There are two kinds of awards: Webby Awards, given by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, and Webby People's Voice Award, voted on by the online public.
Which is where you come in! If you're inclined, we'd be so grateful if you'd take a moment to vote for Happier with Gretchen Rubin.
Voting is open until Thursday, May 7, at 11:59 p.m. PT. Please vote here.
Huge gold star if you take a second to vote. It really means a lot to us.
To celebrate, Elizabeth and I decided to hold a giveaway for our audience (including international fans) on Instagram. Enter to win here.
Being nominated for such a prestigious award is a wonderful milestone, along with several other big milestones we've hit recently: in 2019, we did our first major live tour, we recently passed 100 million downloads, and in February, we celebrated our fifth-anniversary. And we now have merch!
If you want to hear some highlights from the past five years, listen to our fifth-anniversary episode. Even after all these years, my favorite episode may still be episode 10, "Special Episode: Live from Elizabeth's Clutter Closet." It still makes me laugh. I just listened to it again the other day—I was feeling blue, and I knew it would cheer me up.
Indeed, in these dark times, Elizabeth and I have found so much comfort and energy in doing the podcast—and connecting with our thoughtful, creative listeners.
In March, we started our daily Instagram Live "Coping with Covid-19 Conversations" because we wanted a way to boost the spirits of listeners—but as often is the case, we find that we're the one who have benefited most from these conversations! For each of us, it's a bright spot in the day.
We've made so many friends, had so many great exchanges with our community and had so many sisterly adventures as part of doing this podcast. It's a giant engine of happiness for both of us.
