I'm very excited -- the "Roadmap to Happiness" is about to hit the airwaves!
In partnership with the public TV station WETA, I made a "pledge show." As you've probably seen yourself, from time to time, public TV stations have a pledge period when they encourage their viewers to pledge money to support the station.
As part of the pledge drive, they air special programming. This might be a concert, a nature documentary...or me talking about happiness, good habits, and human nature.
The "Roadmap to Happiness" is a great overview of my work on these subjects the keys to a happy life, the Four Tendencies, and some top strategies for habit change.
It was terrific to work with the brilliant Grace Cutler, the creative force who drove the project, and all the great people at WETA. This was a chance to work with the varsity team.
And adding to the fun was the fact that my sister Elizabeth was part of it -- we had yet another opportunity for a sisterly adventure.
An "atmosphere of growth" is one of the key elements of a happy life, and in working on this show, Elizabeth and I definitely experienced the fun and not-so-fun aspects of the atmosphere of growth.
The fun: the thrill of accomplishment, the satisfaction of learning to do something new, the pleasure of meeting new people.
The not-so-fun: the anxiety of learning to use new tools like teleprompters, in-ear communications devices, and multiple cameras; the worry of learning our parts; the worry about what to wear. As often happens with the atmosphere of growth, once we figured out those things, they became part of the fun.
