Cultivate your casual friendships.
I mention Allie Volpe’s piece from the New York Times: “Why You Need a Network of Low-Stakes, Casual Friendships.”
Happiness Hack
My mother-in-law Judy gave this rainbow twirler spinner as a terrific little gift for Passover. So charming! And such a good bargain if you need a fun inexpensive gift.
Interview
Ramit Sethi. I don’t even remember how I met Ramit, but I’ve known him for many years. I’m a big fan of his work. He just published a newly updated edition of his super-popular book I Will Teach You To Be Rich. It first came out ten years ago. Ramit is extremely practical and gives very concrete advice about the role of money, savings, earning, and investing—and he doesn’t hold back from opinions!
Gretchen’s Demerit
I’m not sure if this is a demerit, or a regret, or just an impossibility. When I travel for work, I never try to connect with friends. In the future, I want to push myself to do this.
Elizabeth’s Gold Star
We both give a gold star to Brent Abens, our terrific tour manager. He made doing our live shows so much easier and less stressful.
